My partner told me about this earlier today.

Yeah, you guys: music is a professional trade. If another professional is asking you for shit like this, they’re scamming you. It’s a scam.

Musicians don’t need “exposure”. Amazingly talented musicians DIE in the streets every night from exposure. What young, emerging musicians need is seasoned professionals willing to actually INVEST - invest time AND MONEY - into supporting these artists’ careers.

I have ZERO respect for anyone in any kind of creative field who pulls this kind of shit.

ALSO.  When she was busking and otherwise broke in Boston many local musicians helped her out.  She was fed and housed by fellow musicians and fans.  She and Brian Viglione both benefited from the generosity of fellow musicians.  This is a big slap in the face to all those people.  I probably know a dozen local people in the music & arts community who gave her a hand when she needed it.  It’s pretty pathetic that she’s not giving back.
