I’ve had it with Ann Romney mentioning her MS and breast cancer as an attempt to prove that she and her family have “struggled” and experienced “hardship,” without acknowledging that illness is a lot harder for a poor person to get through than it is for a rich person like herself. It’s appalling that someone who knows what it’s like to be sick would not want to make sure other sick people are able to get treatment regardless of their ability to pay for it. You never had to choose between buying medicine and buying food, Ann.

I could not agree more. If I were to describe it kindly, I’d say it was in poor taste. Unkindly, it is tone deaf and cruel to harp on about it.

I can think of several MS patients in particular that I know who cannot work, do not have health insurance, cannot afford pharmaceutical medications, are at risk of going to jail on the daily for using medical marijuana, who might really like a horse of their own to cope.
