Anonymous asked: Hey I am a big admirer of you blog, I have a question. (I'm only anon cos I have a stalker I dont want him latching onto you he's a mysoginistic freak) - I was in the city today and while waiting for a train I saw a gorgeous POC girl with a short haircut, like a 1920s kind of bob cut, she looked so stylish and elegant. Anways, this white guy came up to her and said "Hey, your haircut is fantastic. You look great" and then he walked off. She looked happy but wasit appropriate of him to do that??
You’re asking the wrong person.
Whether it was appropriate or not is up to the person on the receiving end of the action, not me. And more than that, I don’t get why this is a thing you felt compelled to ask.
I’m deeply uncomfortable and suspicious of this entire question. Like, why do you need me to give you some opinion on what a white dude said to a Woman/Girl (or at least person you READ as a woman/girl) of Color - especially when you’re not telling me what the woman in question felt like or how she reacted or what was going on with her.
Because it’s HER that counts here. HER feelings, HER reactions, HER experiences. That’s what determines anything.
But mostly - you know I’m white, right? And you know that when it comes to these things white opinions are about as desirable and needed as second-hand toilet paper, right?
Why is this a big deal to you?
Seriously. You’re setting off my creep/troll alarms. Glad you like my blog, but person, I’m really getting red flags here.
