Stop buying/ wearing TOMS they have partnered with the Focus on the Family, which was named as a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Besides being a proponent of traditional charity, which ultimately provides little improvement to the area in need, I now have another of many reasons not to buy TOMS.

Yet another lesson in why one should never trust self-aggrandizing white “philanthropists,” they always have some shit in the pocket.

Important signal boost.

Remember, Focus on the Family are the American fundie group directly behind the anti-LGBT bill in Uganda. The one that mandates government-sponsored genocide.

Fellow white folks: be mad about them getting involved with Focus on the Family by all means, but make sure you understand that there are bigger issues and that it’s not the sole (no pun intended) thing this company is doing that’s highly questionable and sufficient grounds not to support them.
